Excepting Thierry ZIG and Alain DIGBEU, bound by their professionnal contracts with Levallois and Villeurbanne, the best dunkers in France were there, and so was Duke TSHOMBA, the Belgian Slam Dunk champion, from Charleroi.
MEDJANA got high prizes for the participants, and a lot of gear from Reebok and especially Nike, Michael Jordan's equipment brand.
Less than one month away from the contest, 10 dunkers were scheduled to enter the contest but Celine LECHELLE, a friend of MEDJANA who used to play for the Valenciennes-Orchies female section team, managed to convince him to invite an 11th dunker, Abdoulaye BAMBA.
She had seen him winning the Slam Dunk contest organized for the French University Championship.
D-Day : the dunkers all played the opening game in a dunkers team against an Orchies selection with MEDJANA (who, by the way, scored 30 points but none on a dunk).
Time of the contest : the warm-up in itself was already a contest, and the spectators started shouting and screaming.
NBA-like, MEDJANA selected a jury who would show the marks on small boards.
Before the contest, Jeremy gave the timing the dunkers would dunk.

The Finals regrouped 4 dunkers and the level was so high that MEDJANA believed that the Orchies Slam Dunk contest was unique and the world's best.
The quality, the creativity and the final dunk would remain unforgettable for all the fortunate spectators of that contest.
Amazing dunks after unbelievable slams, ZIANI got the last spot for the Finals after an additional dunk to break a tie with Michael HADIRI and Nasser SOULE, that dunk was a shoe-size closer to the hoop, from the free-throw-line.
