ZIANI proved right away that his jumping skills were incredible. Each dunk he attempted made him touch the rim with his head!
He won the 1995 Slam-Dunk contest, in front of SCOTTIE, Thierry ZIG and Omar MANE.
That second edition made MEDJANA want to organize a French Slam Dunk contest with national-wide participants.
After the success of the first 2 contests, the challenge seemed hard.
Anyway, he had to convince his President to allocate him a bigger budget, to make the prizes bigger to get the best dunkers.
As the first scout for dunkers, MEDJANA was able to select the dunkers, helped by specialized press, and the network created through the dunkers he already knew.
At that time, Mondial Basket magazine was one of the best information sources since it used to give, along with the results of the 3X3 tournaments, all the Slam Dunk contest winners (Adidas streetball, Reebok blacktop...).
